Nestled in seven hectares of Mediterranean scrub, among pines, agaves, brooms, and the scent of salty air, the hotel is built around an ancient 16th-century Aragonese tower, built as a defensive garrison against Saracen raids. Even today, that tower dominates the landscape with an austere and silent presence, defining the very identity of the property: a vertical refuge suspended between sky and sea, where history is not displayed as decoration, but lives on in the materiality of the stones, in the terraces overlooking the blue, and in the paths that crisscross the Mediterranean garden. Over the centuries, the complex has been expanded and transformed, passing through the hands of the Dukes of Rancidello<\/strong> until its conversion into a guesthouse in the 1930s. But it was above all in the twentieth century that the Mezzatorre took on an almost mythological dimension thanks to Luigi Patalano,<\/strong> A central figure in Ischia's cultural life, he transformed the property into a meeting place for artists, intellectuals, and travelers. In 2018, the Sci\u00f2 family discovered the Mezzatorre and immediately understood its emotional and symbolic potential. Today the Mezzatorre houses 48 rooms and suites spread between the historic tower and a series of cottages immersed in the greenery.
Each space engages with the surrounding landscape: large windows overlooking the sea, private terraces, natural colors, light fabrics, and materials that reflect the island's ever-changing light. The Grand Suite, located inside the ancient tower, retains an almost cinematic feel thanks to its panoramic terrace suspended over the sea, while the Junior and Deluxe Suites overlooking the bay Saint Montano<\/strong> They convey a sense of absolute tranquility.
